Yili lauded for digital transformation

Chinese dairy giant Yili Group was named as a demonstration company for advancing digital transformation in the food industry at the China Food Industry Internet Summit (CFIIS) 2018 held on Oct 24-25 in Shanghai.

Representatives from Yili shared the company's experience of leveraging the power of digital technologies at the conference, winning praise from many attendees.

The conference, organized by China Food and Packaging Machinery Industry Association, attracted over 500 representatives from companies engaged in food processing, logistics, cloud computing, e-commerce, and packaging.

The event aims to encourage leading food companies to enhance application of digital technologies, so as to promote the development of the industry.

New technologies are making fundamental changes in the way companies operate.

According to the summit, the rapid growth of take-out services in the food market has showed a positive correlation between business performance and emerging technologies.

As a leading national dairy firm, Yili started its digital transformation with the application of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in quality surveillance, milk production and ranch management.

The company also established a management system for cows by using ear tags to monitor its herds.

According to Yili, in the future it plans to be even more open to emerging technologies and push forward the application of technologies throughout the industrial chain.
