The city of Hohhot, in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has been making good progress in environmental enhancement since the city released the Regulations on the Ecological Protection of Daqing Mountain Front Slope in Hohhot on April 1, 2019, according to local media reports.

The Regulations clarified government responsibilities and encouraged social forces to participate in ecological construction on the front slope of Daqing Mountain.

With the protection of the legal system, the front slope of Daqing Mountain is now covered by green trees and secluded winding paths, creating a green ecological barrier and a beautiful line of scenery along Daqing Mountain.

After several years of restoration work, the front slope of Daqing Mountain has gained the ecological functions of carbon fixation and oxygen release, water conservation, wind prevention and sand fixation, and air purification.
